While I was on the train this morning on my way to work, I noticed that I have not met any guy friends on public transports anymore. Now girlfriends I still do see... In fact, I meet Yanhan quite often on the morning train.
Why do I not meet my guy friends anymore?
The answer I gave myself was: They all brought cars. hmm...
Guys tend to buy cars at an earlier age, why? I would think that the ladies should be the one driving themselves to work and avoid the public transport. Standing in a crowded train in the morning, carrying 2 bags and on high heels is no joke... I want a car!

Lucky Draw customer
A man called our general line yesterday afternoon while I was still at lunch. He told our receptionist that he won a X brand men's model watch in a lucky draw. This prize was sponsored by our company and he would like to change the prize to a ladies' model.
The receptionist (lady with lots of common sense) gently informed him that we do not do exchange of lucky draw prizes. (It is a common practice thruout Singapore...) I guess the man was not satisfied that it was a receptionist that rejected him, hence he asked to speak to the department-in-charge (that would be my department... sigh...). So she gave him my name and DID. She did warned me that such a person is going to contact me. so I was not very surprised to receive the call later that afternoon.
He repeated his request and I rejected him too. He asked me "Why not?" How did I explain something that is considered a common practice in Singapore to an external party without being rude?!
So I came out with the reason that we have a fix number of watches for sponsorship each year and we cannot change any watch or else it would actually mess up all the products... (Now that I think about it, it seems that I was using the "If you can't convince them, confuse them" theory...) But well, I don't think the man brought my story... he laughed and said it was ok and hung up.
I guess he was trying his luck... I hope he knows it is common practice that lucky draw prizes are not exchangable. He was polite thruout the conversation, but this whole incident still pissed me off. I have to BS... and not even succeed at it. Therefore ended up been laughed up. :(
